Lecture On: Animal Jam + My thoughts on AJHQ

Ok, first order of business: This may sound very childish, but sooo many people get fooled. And second: don't think I'm trying to tell you what to do, because I'm not. I'm just telling you something so you are aware of it. And don't think I'm copying Rosy's Guide to AJ because I just want people to know this stuff.

1) Scamming and Hacking. It happens everywhere. Behind the AJ happy and cheery facade, there's a world of drama. Don't get them mixed up. Scamming is where someone says, for example "send me betas and I send you betas" or "Send me stuff for my birthday" or most often "Flash me five seconds! Best trade gets my worn! I decline!" Or something along those lines. Hacking is where someone actually enters you account and in most cases, takes all your stuff. To avoid being scammed, don't listen to those deals people make and the "you send me this I send you that" stuff. Although there ARE a few kind souls who will actually end up giving you a worn, the majority won't. And its hard to sort the good from the bad so don't do it in the first place. I don't really have any tips to avoid being hacked. Just, figuratively, keep your head down and keep away (from hackers). There are some well known ones, and rumors about ones, so generally avoid them. Keep the number of, lets say, worns you have vague, so you don't become a target. Make a backup account. If you like your Animal Jam account, you will take this seriously.

2) Dating. Animal Jam is a KIDS game. So don't date or participate in other inappropriate activities. Jammers, sometimes, also participate in mating, so try not to.

3) Impostering (Alya1001's term). This is when, lets say my name is bubblegum. I'm super rare, and people want to hack me. Then one day, someone creates an account called bubbIegum (with a capital i), and since on AJ it looks like bubblegum, the person can say to one of my friends, "Oh I got hacked and someone deleted my friends and my membership, could you give me a worn".

So I'm just saying, be careful on Animal Jam. You might care more than you think. But don't cry over it. I have heard that one too many times. So what do I have to say to those people who do cry? I'm sorry, but seriously, GET A LIFE. Your life is not going to be centered around Animal Jam. If you've got no friends because they all live in different states and play AJ, its your own fault. You have to accept that. People have cried over stuff like "I don't have any friends on Animal Jam!" I repeat: get a life.

We all know that AJHQ stands for Animal Jam Headquarters, right? And they've given us things like the report action so they're "alert" to any trouble, right? And that they're also keeping a leash on us, like with the restricted chat and warning signs, right? But how does AJHQ really influence us? Have they ever once listened to a report? Do they truly care for the good of everyday jammers? Or are they just doing this to make money? These thoughts were running through my head as my friend told me somebody had scammed her fox hat. Even though she didn't really care, I was still thinking these things. AJHQ wants you to participate in this frenzy for items. In reality, it has no worth. After all, isn't this just a virtual world, with nonexistent items? So this means that, in reality, AJ just wants money. For all you know, the money is going to a good cause, but still, I think they're going a bit extreme. I mean, they actually stopped the ability for nonmembers to see the chat history. I mean SERIOUSLY?!?!?! And these RIMs...They didn't actually think that with rares in adventures, they would still be treated like rares?

Poor goldfishypuppy.

  1. I agree. Why put all these limits on us nonmembers when all we're getting is computer pixels, and yet AJHQ is charging $40.00 for only 1 year of membership. Membership doesn't benefit our real life, so why make people pay so much for benefited fake lives? And why, may I ask, will there be nothing wrong or inappropiate about something I'm saying, yet it gets blocked, and then there's all those people bullying and doing/saying inappropiate things, and they can get away with it?
